Our client is a well-established brand in the Renewable Energy Semiconductor Manufacturing Industry, they have access to over 1,000 patents and two best-in-class differentiated solar panel product lines and they are now looking for a passionate and driven IT Staff Engineer(Linux and Cloud) to join their team.


As a Linux and Cloud Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for cloud architecture, configuration, deployment, and site reliability engineering for the company's cloud environment and Linux production services. We're looking for passionate engineers that enjoy partnering with software engineering teams to build and maintain automation to accelerate cloud adoption. You will be asked to leverage your understanding of public cloud architectural design and Linux skills to design and implement solutions that are secure, scalable, and operationally sound.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Architect, build, and maintain on-premise and/or cloud infrastructure to support team and customer initiatives.
  • Maintain and improve existing infrastructure (build out autoscaling, support new services, optimize for cost efficiencies/authentication/search, etc).
  • Seeks opportunities for system improvement with a focus on continuous improvement of system functionality, efficiency, and availability.
  • Work with Information Security Teams to maintain security requirements for the operation of Linux systems.
  • Perform routine equipment checks, preventative maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of designs/configurations.
  • Work with other service providers to support areas of common interest.
  • Complies at all times with the Environment, Health, and Safety and company manufacturing standards, rules, and regulations.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned.
  • On-call support may be required.



Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience.
  • Experience working within Linux distributions such as Oracle, RedHat, or Suse with relevant certification.
  • Very strong problem-solving skills, with proven ability to analyze and determine root cause and resolution for complex problems.
  • Working knowledge of database technologies (Oracle clustering and ASM, MongoDB, and Mysql).
  • Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware.
  • Experience with public clouds such as AWS and Azure (preferably with AWS Solution Architect certification).
  • Experience with Python, Perl, or Shell scripting.
  • Advanced knowledge of systems security practices (CISSP certification will be an advantage).
  • Working knowledge with SAN/NAS.
